Small buses run regularly from Lapta in to Girne were you can visit the beautiful Harbour, eat out in the vast array of restaurants, get in a good shopping spree or take one of the best boat trips in the med by day or by night.

If you have a car then you can be more adventurous (driving is on the left) and take in some mountain drives or visit many of the touristic and historical sites, like, St Hillarion Castle or Belapais Abbey. You may want to beach hop as being an island, there are many!! Most beaches offer water sports of all kinds including diving for experts and beginners. You could visit the Karpaz and see the wild donkeys or watch the turtles come in to lay their eggs. From Alagadi beach there are evening tours to watch the turtles come in and tours to watch the baby turtles make their way back into the sea. A wonderful site!

Other activities local to Lapta include: Art and pottery lessons, walking, darts teams, pool teams, bowling, cricket, gymnasiums, Turkish lessons, theatre groups, geological guided tours, jeep safaris, Pilates, Zumba, yoga, weight loss classes and the list goes on.
